Yuliana Palacios er dansari og danshöfundur frá Mexíkó sem hefur verið búsett á Íslandi síðan 2016. Á þessum árum hefur hún unnið sjálfstætt að eigin verkefnum, en oft í samstarfi við listamenn á staðnum. Hún er stofnandi Boreal Screendance Festival á Akureyri. Meðal helstu markmiða hennar er að efla þverfaglegt samstarf listamanna og stuðla að alþjóðlegu samstarfi sem fer yfir landamæri og menningarleg viðmið. Í gegnum listrænar vinnuaðferðir sínar skoðar Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir samsköpun og tengsl milli listgreina. Hún býr til innsetningar, hljóðskúlptúra og hljóð- og sjónræn verk með því að vinna með skúlptúrísk einkenni hljóðs og efnis. Verkin eru hönnuð út frá því að skapa ferli sem varpa ljósi á hvernig hugmyndir verða til út frá því að vinna með mismunandi efnivið, á milli einstaklinga og í samhengi við umhverfi sitt. Sem flytjandi vinnur hún með fólki úr ýmsum listgreinum og leikur oft á hljóðskúlptúrinn Huldu, strengjahljóðfæri sem hún hannaði sjálf. Lilja María lauk doktorsnámi í tónsmíðum við City, University of London árið 2024.

Yuliana Palacios is a dancer and choreographer from Mexico who has been based in Iceland since 2016. During these years she has worked independently on her own projects but often in collaboration with local artists. She is the founder of Boreal Screendance Festival in Akureyri. Among her main objectives is to foment interdisciplinary collaboration between artists and promote international cooperation, transcending borders and cultural norms.

Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir’s artistic practice is centred on explorations of collaborative creativity and connections between different fields of art. Working with sculptural elements of sound and matter, she creates installations, sound sculptures, and audio-visual pieces. The works are actively designed to facilitate continuous processes that highlight how ideas surface from correspondences with materials, between individuals, and in context to one’s surroundings. As a performer she works with artists from various fields, often performing with her sound sculpture Hulda, a string instrument she designed. In 2024, Lilja María completed a PhD in composition at City, University of London.

Ásta Vilhelmína Guðmundsdóttir er listrænn stjórnandi Oceanus
